Double Tough Doc - Doc Bar x King Cobra
He is around a year and a half in the first two pictures. They were taken not long after he jumped a couple of fences hoping to breed the girls nearby. He did not clear the first one entirely, breaking the top board with his hocks, which were a "background" problem from then on.

Parenthetically, I have noticed that fences 5'4" - 5'6", such as he was behind, are not high enough. There is a psychological barrier just above that, 5'10" is not that big a difference really, yet at that or above, they don't try it.

Caroline later decided to sell him as it questionable whether he would ever be 100% sound again. Wayne Havens bought and rode him in hope that he would hold up, and found that he would, for relatively short periods, just long enough to raise hopes, and then go lame again. He subsequently passed through many hands, and now lives in Europe.

I met his last U.S. owner, Jerry Lacey, several years ago in Oregon. He made a very favorable impression, and has several nice animals featured on his website, including a son of Double Tough.

Wayne Havens up - I don't recall when this was, probably late 70's.
I'll try again with these pictures some day, although the negatives don't offer much to work with
